Requirements for Testing Voting Systems

Certification Testing to Federal guidelines

• Voting system manufacturers submit their systems for testing to either the 2002 Voting System Standards (though 2007) or the 2005 Voluntary Voting System Guidelines.
• All iBeta voting system review and test procedures are traced to the individual requirement of the guidelines.
• Voting systems that meet a requirement are “Accepted”; Systems that do not meet the requirement are “Rejected” and a discrepancy is issued for all rejections.

Other Voting System Testing

• iBeta performs testing at the request of individual state election boards or local jurisdictions. Specific requirements for this type of testing are determined based the scope of testing, state and jurisdiction election laws, and rules and practices.
