iBeta's Security Audit

iBeta's Security Audit is designed to verify that the client's software has been tested for a specified range of security related issues.
This Security Audit will test for the following conditions:

Spyware

  • Does the software have embedded spyware, key loggers or does it 'Phone Home'?

  • Ad Ware

  • Does the software install third party applications that are not required for normal operations? (Such as Gator or browser hijackers)

  • Virus

  • Does the software trigger antivirus traps?

  • Does the software unknowingly cause damage to the system state?

  • Pop-Up

  • Does the software work with pop-up blockers?

  • Do pop-up blockers cause the software to behave in an undesirable way?

  • Firewall

  • Compatibility with Packet Filtering, Circuit Level, Application Gateway and Stateful Packet Inspection firewalls.

  • Permission Escalation

  • Can the application be used to escalate the local user to a higher permission level?
  • Exploit

  • Can a third party exploit the software to gain local system access? (i.e. brute force, buffer overflows, etc.)
